Our Staff

Fully qualified teaching staff with additional certification in special education and Jolly Phonics. In addition we have supporting local staff and foreign staff working as assistants, mentors and coaches for the children.

Chris STORER – Country Director

BA (Hons), Cambridge University CELTA, and Post-graduate Certificate in Professional Studies in Education, began his career in education teaching maths and French to young adults with learning difficulties in England. In 1995 he moved to teaching primary school children in Alexandria, Egypt. He then worked with the British Council in Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Spain and Syria. Between 2007 and 2009 he managed the Corporate Development Unit for the British Council based in Riyadh, and between 2009 and 2011 was a Managing Director for UKETs, an education consultancy and service provider based in Bahrain. From 2011 until January 2015 he managed Teaching English Language and Literacy (TELL) programme for the Malaysian government, working with 165 schools.

Lorene Krista SIAN – Principal

BA (Hons) Political Science, BSc Education (Central Philippine University). Registered/licensed Teacher status with Professional Regulation Commission. Former Vice-Principal at Heritage International School, Phnom Penh. Former Preschool Teacher at KinderCare International School. Lorene has extensive experience in curriculum design and teacher mentoring. Has worked with children from Kindergarten to Primary.

OAK Thida – Head Administrator

Graduated with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration at National University of Management, Faculty of Accounting. Thida has also completed Financial Accounting Certification at International Cooperation Organization. She has worked as Teacher’s Assistant (English Language) and a specialist Khmer language teacher at international schools in Phnom Penh. Prior to joining Brighton, Thida was employed as an accountant. Through her work experience and qualifications, she has a thorough understanding of education in the classroom and the business systems needed for the smooth running of a school.

Y Raty – Registrar

Graduated from SOLS 24/7 Organization (2012-2016). Has experience as an Assistant English Teacher for six months at SOLS (2013). Has been an Assistant Manager at Kampong Thom Province, SOLS 24/7 GDI (2012-2013). Has experience in school administration and accounting. She is fluent in Khmer and English.

LOEUNG Sopheak – Khmer Teacher / Admin Assistant

Graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Khmer Literature at Royal University of Phnom Penh. She has experience as a Teaching Assistant and Admin Officer at an International School in Phnom Penh. Sopheak has experience as a Khmer Teacher and is fluent in both Khmer and English.

Mariz B. GANCIA – Preschool Teacher

Holds a Bachelor’s degree in Special Education (Hons) (Central Philippine University). Registered/Licensed Teacher status with Professional Regulation Commission (PRC). Has worked from kindergarten to elementary level during her practicum in both public and private schools. Has extensive experience in the field of teaching of children with special needs with different level of disabilities

Keziah Faith M. BARROCA – Preschool Teacher

Graduated with the degree of Bachelor in Special Education at West Visayas State University (Iloilo city). Registered/Licensed Teacher status with Professional Regulation Commission (PRC). She has taught groups of students from preschool to gradeschool in all major areas of learning (private and public schools).

John Mark MIRAFLOR – Music Teacher

Has a Bachelor’s degree in Religious Education with a Concentration in Vocal Music (West Coast Baptist College). He has worked as a Music Teacher at Charis School in Marikina, Philippines with experience in handling musical productions as the Production Manager. As an undergraduate, he voluntarily taught Music and English in Cambodia through NGO efforts and ministry related outreaches. Has taught children from primary to secondary and has tutored others beyond.

Alexander HARRIS – Foreign Exchange Teacher (United Kingdom)

Alex has experience working at secondary schools mentoring students with extreme anxiety disorders due to autism in the United Kingdom. He has also gained valuable classroom experience working with children of different ages and working with the British curriculum. He has also taught French to children.

MENG Somaly – Teacher Assistant

She graduated at Soramarith High School (2012). She can speak Khmer and English. She has teaching assistance experience at an international school in Phnom Penh and has worked with children of various ages.

SEN Socheata – Teacher Assistant

Graduate with a Bachelors Degree in Accounting and Finance at National Institute of Business (NIB). Socheata has also completed studies in IT and English. She has worked in marketing (2013-2014) for start-up businesses, and also has previous experience in childcare. She speaks both Khmer and English.

RY Sopha – Teacher Assistant

Graduated Boueng Keng Kong High School (2013). Has completed General English as a Second Language (GESL) certification at Pannasastra University of Cambodia (2014). Currently studying for a Bachelor’s degree in Banking and Finance at Royal University of Law and Economics (RULE). She speaks both Khmer and English.
